Pakistan Stops Accepting R and RA Grade Japanese Used Cars for Inspection
October 16, 2026 | MDK Japan News
From October 15, 2026, Japanese used cars graded R or RA on the auction sheet will no longer be accepted for vehicle inspection in Pakistan. The rule follows a notification from EAA Headquarters and applies even to cars that have been fully repaired.
The auction sheet grade alone now decides eligibility. R generally points to accident or repair history, and RA to a minor one, but the new rule treats both the same. Since the grade can’t be seen in photos, a car may look perfect and still be rejected.
What buyers should do:
- Ask for the original auction sheet before agreeing to any car.
- Check that the grade is not R or RA, and read the inspection notes and damage diagram.
- Confirm eligibility with your exporter before paying or shipping.
MDK Japan, in the Japanese used car export business since 2006, advises buyers to check auction sheets carefully before confirming any vehicle for Pakistan. Buyers who are unsure can send the sheet to the team for review. The company also apologized for the short notice and thanked customers for their patience and cooperation.
